Kat is a ray of sunshine even on the cloudiest days.
Her positive attitude is contagious to anyone around her!
This Torontonian came across the country to pursue her love of the outdoors, tourism, and especially skiing. Not to mention, she’s also an incredible equestrian!
How long have you been in Whistler?
I’ve been in Whistler for the past 5 years and have guided for Whistler Tasting Tours for 2 years!
Where’s the best place to celebrate a birthday in town?
Personally, I’d love to celebrate my birthday on the mountain skiing followed by Merlin’s on Blackcomb to après. Anywhere along the Crystal Chair is my go-to. However, everyone in town chooses Sushi Village as the restaurant in Whistler to celebrate their special day because it’s simply the best place.
What else is fun to do in Whistler during the Winter if you’re not a skier or boarder?
Hiking is lots of fun in the Winter because there’s still tons of trails open both with or without snowshoes. It’s also so beautiful with the snowfall that you can’t go wrong with taking your dogs out to explore.
Favourite place in Whistler for casual eats?
Once again, I have to give a shoutout to Merlin’s. Everyone knows Earls is good too but I also love Carmaba because it never disappoints on service and quality!
What’s your favourite activity to do in your spare time?
I absolutely love horse riding and I even work as a Mountain Guide on horseback during the Summer for the Pemberton Stables. Usually when I’m not skiing or horseback riding, I’m probably hiking.
Best place to go for scenic views?
Pemby is next level. Mount Brew is just across from Brandywine Falls and gives you an incredible view of the Whistler Valley and Whistler Blackcomb. Other well known ones are Black Tusk and Panorama Ridge for breathtaking views.
What is your favourite thing about Whistler?
Everybody just loves living here and sharing it with everyone else!
