Chad is one of the funniest guys out there and will always put a smile on your face, which is why he’s one of our favourite local bartenders! We had a chat with him to learn about his tips and tricks to making the perfect cocktail.
How long have you been in Whistler?
I’ve lived here for 5 years and I’ve been a bartender at the FireRock Lounge for 4 months.
Where are you originally from?
I’m from Oakville, Ontario.

What is your secret to making the perfect cocktail?
Time, passion and fresh ingredients!
Which is the best drink on the menu?
The best drink we offer is Death Before Decaf, which is made with freshly brewed espresso, Baileys, vanilla-infused vodka and shaken chocolate on top. The espresso takes the bite off of the alcohol and the vanilla vodka gives a nice sweetness to it, you have to try it!
Where else do you work at the moment?
I also work for the Longhorn Saloon as the Sunday Night Party Captain, but I’d need a whole other blog article to explain that! I also work at the offices of the Whistler Village Beer Festival.
What is your favourite part about living in Whistler?
I definitely can’t pick just one thing. The mountains are amazing, I really enjoy the outdoorsy lifestyle and snowboarding as well. The night life is also great, this is a tough one!
What is the best place to go for drinks in the village?
It depends on when and where. In the mountain, it would have to be Christine’s. For Après-ing I’d say Longhorn and late at night definitely Buffalo Bills. The FireRock always has great cocktails though 😉
Which is the best club in town and why?
Buffalo Bills! The music and staff make the experience unforgettable.
